STRENGTHENING DEMOCRACY ONE CONVERSATION AT A TIME
Democracy Talks is a resource for community organizations and local leaders interested in fostering democratic engagement. A resource guide designed with and for community organizations, Democracy Talks includes lesson plans, activities and sparks that can all be easily embedded into existing community programming.
Our goal is to inspire citizen engagement amongst community groups. We work with national and local community groups interested in a non-partisan approach to empowering its members and investing in their long-term social well being. We work to strengthen participants’ political voices by motivating involvement, increasing knowledge and enhancing the skills required to be involved in Canada’s democracy
HOW IT WORKS
A hands-on approach to getting newcomers, youth, and other marginalized communities onto the first rung of the ladder of engagement. All Democracy Talks activities are driven by the interests of participants and encourage participants to consider the issues that matter to them and their community. They are designed to be fun and meaningful for participants, while also being simple for facilitators to deliver.
